Gorilla Spring Classic 2025 Results
Firstly apologies for the delay in releasing the final results and secondly well done to the 13 teams (and one person) who completed the tough course in beautiful sunshine but with a challenging wind. Everyone can firmly pat themselves on the back with the spirit they carried themselves with and the fun had in the team format.
There were some truly outstanding moving times from What's Under the Hood, Uno X, Maybee Not and SKRochers in particular who all must have consumed dangerous levels of Weetabix in the lead up. The 'dossing' or enjoyment of the natural surroundings times varied wildly showing some teams intent on efficiency and some teams intent on just enjoying extremely long lunches.
Uno X squeaked the fastest overall time after WUTH were nominally penalised for not taking the agreed 30 minute stoppage, possibly the only time Phil Hood hasn't insisted on a 30 minute pub stop on a ride. Both teams were barely separable though and smashed it just ahead of a great ride from the Maybee Not crew.
In the Committee's choice award, voting was extremely tight but ultimately All the snac(Km)s came away with the coveted trophy on account of the spirit with which they competed, that they've all embraced the club ethos since joining and that one of it's members wore trainers in homage to Blake Timmins White Rose classic disaster. Maybee Not were a narrow second with SKRochers third. A well done and thanks from me again to everyone and the GSC will return next year!
